It celebrates the vibrant culture and tenacious struggle of the Canadian Roma through Julia Lovell and her father Tom. The film portrays a young generation of Canadian Roma from many subgroups who claim their ancestral roots with pride while combating the myths and stereotypes that surround the "Gypsies."
